Jacques Cartier was talking with someone and introducing his ideas.They were discussing something special.Maybe Jacques Cartier needed to help.They sited under the cross.The other man tried to let Jacques Cartier accept his ideas.Jacques Cartier was a explorer.He is the symbol of wisdom.

Jacques was born in France, on May 19th, 1491.He dreamed of sailing the seas, and finding new lands.His occupation was being an explorer! He was blown off course, and landed in Newfoundland.Cartier had many more Voyages.He was looking for a passage through or around North America to East Asia.He was the first European to map, travel and attempt to establish a settlement in the northern St. Lawrence area.He reached Hochelaga, another Huron village. He visited Stadacona, and built a fort near the mouth of the Saguenay. Cartier spent the rest of his life in St.-Malo and his nearby estate, and died in 1557, aged 66.

Jacques Cartier did many important contributions for Canada.He discovered Canada.he named "The Country of Canada", .He introduced Canada to France.He transported the culture of Canada.He made the map for Canada.He known the Native People of Canada.He developed the economy of Canada.

In 1534 ,he went to Canada.It was his first time to Canada. It is because he went in search of new land for the king of France.It was a difficult . The king of France asked him to went to Canada.

Jacques Cartier arrived in Newfound land .He discovered Saint Lawrence.He found two kinds of native people.One of the Mi'kmaq.The other was the Iroquoians.The map on left introduced Gulf of Saint Lawrence and Saint Lawrence River. Jacques Cartier used the name of the king to named the native people place.

The video shows :Jacques Cartier went to Canada.When he was approaching the beach.He saw a man looked at him on the beach.He landed Canada.He asked his crew made communications with the native people and took some tool .They used some knives to exchanged the furs from the native people.Jacques Cartier made a cross that was represent the land became a part of France.The chief was so angry with Jacques Cartier.He wanted to change the truth.He asked his two sons to go France and talked the situation with the king.They was attracted by the interesting country.They got the knowledge .During the time,Jacques Cartier's team got on well with the native people.In the final,the native people agreed with French helped them to develop this place.

Jacques Cartier and his crew sailed near to Canada.They found an island.They landed.They named the land "Hochelaga".They saw many native people on the land.They had their own fields .They had many plant ,vegetables.They ate delicious food everyday.Jacques Cartier observed there were many sick people soon later.It was a bad information.He must go back to Europe .There will be a frozen rain.They were stopped by the ice age.They stayed in a jungle.A part crew of the team got the scurvy.They met Donnaconna who was the chief of the jungle.He gave them a soup .The soup helped the crew felt better.Jacques Cartier wanted to give Donnaconna to the king as a gift.So,Donnaconna was took away the jungle.He never came back to Canada.

8. What is scurvy? Find a picture of scurvy and post it on your blog.

Scurvy is a disease caused by a lack of Vitamin C. It presents itself as swollen bleeding gums and the opening of previously healed wounds. It was a particular problem among sailors in the days of sailing ships as they had no fresh food for long periods of their voyages.

9. What happened to Donnaconna?
Donnaconna helped Jacques Cartier's team when they had scurvy.Jacques Cartier invited him to France.He agreed with Jacques Cartier.When he wanted to went back and looked after his native people.Jacques Cartier didn't let him go back and brought him to France,He left his jungle and never came back.

10. How would you feel if you were Donnaconna or the Iroquois people? Would you be friends with the French after this experience?
If I was one of the native people,I felt angry with Jacques Cartier.He didn't care the feeling of the native people.He had no entitlement to took away our chief.We helped them.If we didn't help them.What happened?I won't be friends with French.They were full of the
trickery and malice.It was hateful.
